Empowerment with Pedals4Progress

The Peacemakers Community Development Foundation, Nigeria received a donation of 467 bicycles and 201 sewing machines from Pedals4Progress for the empowerment of over 500 widows and widowers in Nigeria. The empowerment and job training was done in a town called Jikwoyi, FCT Abuja Nigeria. It was a three days facilitation workshop. Community Development Program

Through our continuous intervention, we establish strong relationships with community leaders, regularly conducting outreaches and town halls to monitor  and discuss village needs. Through our intervention programs, we work within a community’s culture to give women a chance to become earners, so they can make change by investing in schools, medical centers and other essential services.

 
Youth Intervention Program

Serving 15 Irvington High School students from New Jersey, youth ages 14-18, and 10 – 12 International high school students from Nigeria. This is a summer exchange program that will focus on at-risk of dropping out of school, extra-curriculum summer classes for foreign high school kids, seminars/workshops on getting a good grades, not testing proficient on the High School Proficiency Assessment, and economically disadvantaged.  This is  a one week program. Food and Clothing Donation

Consider us when you’re doing your seasonal clearing out of clothing you no longer wear. We accept lightly used clothing and shoes for men, women, children and babies.   If you have usable clothing to spare, especially for children and infants, please bring it to us. For families challenged by tough times, new clothing is low on the priority list, but appropriate clothing increases confidence, helps with job acquisition, weather appropriateness and self-dignity.
